The Active Transportation Plan aims to provide safe, comfortable, and accessible ways for people of all ages and all abilities to walk, use mobility devices, and bicycle throughout Alameda. It includes long-range visions as well as an eight-year infrastructure and programs plan. During an extensive public engagement period on the Draft Plan, which ran from October 3-23, the City received hundreds of comments. These were reviewed and taken into consideration in the development of the Final Draft Plan, released on November 9, 2022. Note that on November 22, an updated Final Draft Plan was posted here, which includes the bikeway changes included in the staff and Transportation Commission recommended list of additional proposed changes.
